Alcaraz Dominates Cerundolo to Reach the Semifinals at Indian Wells

Carlos Alcaraz defeated Francisco Cerundolo (6-3, 7-6) in the quarterfinals of the Indian Wells Masters.

While the first six games were closely contested (3-3), the Spaniard shifted into a higher gear to comfortably win the first set (6-3), conceding only two points in the last three games.

Cerundolo started the second set strongly (4-1) before Alcaraz caught up (4-4). The two players had to settle the set in a tie-break, which the Spaniard won (7-4). The match lasted just under two hours (1 hour 43 minutes).

With this victory, Alcaraz secures his sixteenth consecutive win at Indian Wells and advances to the semifinals, where he will face Jack Draper.

Alcaraz advances here as one would expect.

On a lighter note, that is some strange musculature on Alcaraz near the inside elbow on his right side. Looks like some disproportionately overdeveloped pronator teres. Strange.
