Alcaraz, Fritz, Draper, and Shelton Announced for Tokyo, Defending Champion Fils Absent

From September 24 to 30, the ATP 500 Tokyo tournament will take place. The organization has already announced a strong lineup for the 2025 edition. Indeed, four top-10 players are expected to participate in the event held in the Japanese capital.

Carlos Alcaraz, Taylor Fritz, Jack Draper, and Ben Shelton are all confirmed for this tournament, which is part of the traditional Asian tour. Other players such as Holger Rune, Casper Ruud, Frances Tiafoe, Jiri Lehecka, Tomas Machac, and last year’s finalist Ugo Humbert are also expected to take part.

On the French side, Humbert is currently the only player confirmed to participate at this time. Indeed, the defending champion Arthur Fils is not registered and is not expected to defend his title.

The 21-year-old player, who has been struggling with a back injury since Roland-Garros, returned to the tour in Toronto but will not compete in the US Open. Benjamin Bonzi, meanwhile, is the first player on the waiting list and will enter the main draw at the first withdrawal.
