Alcaraz joins Borg and Nadal in a very prestigious ranking
Alcaraz defeated his rival Sinner in the US Open final (6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4), thereby winning his sixth Grand Slam title. A true feat for a player of his age.
Indeed, only Borg has done better in the Open Era (1968) with seven Majors at 22 years and 32 days. Alcaraz thus places just behind the Swede (22 years and 125 days) and slightly ahead of his compatriot Nadal (22 years and 243 days).
Behind them, we find Wilander (23 years and 287 days) and Sampras (23 years and 332 days).
With the Australian Open in his sights, the native of El Palmar could win his first Major in Melbourne, and also secure a seventh Grand Slam before even blowing out his 23rd birthday candle (born May 5, 2003).
