Alcaraz remains confident for Madrid: "I think my injury is not serious"

Injured in the adductors during the Barcelona final, the Spaniard had to finish the match while hampered. He later stated that tests would be conducted to determine the severity of the injury and whether his participation in the Madrid Masters 1000 was still possible.
Present in Madrid during the Laureus Awards ceremony, Alcaraz provided an update. The El Palmar native expressed confidence about competing in the Madrid tournament:
"I played 10 matches in 12 days, so I didn’t have much recovery time. I believe and trust that it won’t be serious. Tomorrow, I’ll undergo tests, but my feeling right now is positive," he told the media outlet rtve.
In the tournament draw, the player has a first-round bye and will face the winner of the match between Nishioka and Bergs.
