Buoyed by his victory over Andrey Rublev at the Masters, Carlos Alcaraz has regained his confidence despite the cold that has been affecting him physically for several days.
In playing conditions where he still needs to improve, the winner of this year's French Open and Wimbledon set out his intentions: "I need to be more consistent with my serve, and bring my game up to the level of the other players. I think I'm playing well, but I can do a lot better.
I'm an ambitious person and I'm going to find that level. I'm going to be one of the best indoor players in the world and I'm going to win important tournaments on this surface. It's the right time to gain experience and play matches."
