Alcaraz's Congratulations to Rune: "I'm Happy to See How Far We've Come Together"
Carlos Alcaraz fell short this Sunday in the final of the ATP 500 in Barcelona, defeated by a resurgent Holger Rune, who returned to his best form on clay.
The Spaniard, losing in front of his home crowd, delivered a heartfelt speech for Rune during the trophy ceremony:
"Congratulations on an incredible week. You came from Monte-Carlo, where you had to withdraw… You arrive here in Barcelona and show outstanding tennis, much to the delight of the crowd.
I congratulate you and your team. We’ve known each other since we were twelve… Time flies. I’m happy to see us like this. To see how far we’ve come together. Congratulations and keep it up."
