An unhappy finalist, Nadal tries to be positive: "It's important that my body resisted"
Rafael Nadal failed to claim the title in Bastad on Sunday.
Although he made a successful return to competition, reaching the final and winning several intense matches, the Majorcan came up short on the last step.
Faced with Nuno Borges in the final, 'Rafa' was out of steam and quite logically lost in two sets (6-3, 6-2).
When asked about this defeat, the Spaniard made no attempt to deny the obvious, while adding a positive note to the interview: "I tried at every moment to find solutions, but the level was far from what I should have shown.
It's important for me that my body stood up to the demands of the week.
But physically and mentally, I had no energy left. Maybe that's one of the reasons for my poor performance in the final, but I've got a lot of things to analyze."
