Anisimova will compete in the 2026 Brisbane WTA 500 tournament: a fourth top 10 player on the schedule in Australia
The 2026 Brisbane WTA 500 tournament promises to be explosive. With one month to go before the start of the Australian tournament, the lineup continues to be unveiled by the organizers. After confirming the participation of defending champion Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina, and Madison Keys, a fourth top 10 player will also be present in the coastal city from January 4 to 11, and it is Amanda Anisimova.
Anisimova will start her 2026 year in Brisbane
Having had an excellent season, the 24-year-old player made her debut in the WTA top 5, playing her first two Grand Slam finals (Wimbledon and US Open) and winning her first two WTA 1000 titles in Doha and Beijing. The American also competed in the WTA Finals in early November, losing in the semifinals to Aryna Sabalenka.
"I love playing in Australia and I'm really looking forward to starting my 2026 season in Brisbane. It's the perfect place to build positive momentum before the Australian Open," Anisimova stated on the tournament's website in recent hours.
