As bosses, Swiatek, Sabalenka and Rybakina all reach the third round!

As the Race ranking (based on the current year's performances) shows, in 2024, they dominate the WTA circuit: Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina.

This year, Sabalenka won the Australian Open and reached the final in Brisbane. Rybakina, meanwhile, has already won 3 titles (Brisbane, Abu Dhabi and Stuttgart) and 2 finals (Doha and Miami). Finally, Swiatek has 2 titles (Doha and Indian Wells) and 2 semi-finals (Dubai and Stuttgart).

In Madrid, the battle between the three players seems to be on again. As great champions, none of them disappointed in their opening matches. Yesterday, it was Swiatek who did the job, defeating Xiyu Wang, ranked 52nd in the world, in a match lasting 1h16 (6-1, 6-4). On Friday, it was Rybakina and Sabalenka who responded to the world number 1's challenge. The Kazakh calmly disposed of Lucia Bronzetti, ranked 46th in the world, in just 1h15 of play (6-4, 6-3). Finally, it was Aryna Sabalenka who followed in the footsteps of her two rivals, eliminating Magda Linette in just over 2 hours (6-4, 3-6, 6-3).

Piling up victories, the three players continue to battle it out. But which of them will take command of the Race rankings after Madrid?
