At 35, Vasek Pospisil announces the final tournament of his career
Struggling with results for several years now, Vasek Pospisil has decided to hang up his racket. A professional since 2007, he will bring an end to a career spanning over 17 years.
To do so, he has logically chosen the Canadian Masters 1000 (July 26 to August 7, 2025), at home, to bid farewell. Thanks to a wild card granted by the organizers, he will be able to say goodbye to the Canadian fans who have supported him so much, particularly in the Davis Cup.
"Making such a decision is never easy. Tennis has been a big part of my life, but it has become clear, both mentally and physically, that the time has come to step away," he said in an interview shared by Tennis Canada.
For the record, Pospisil reached a career-high ranking of No. 25 in singles, but it was in doubles where he truly shone, winning titles at Wimbledon (2014) and Indian Wells (2015).
