At Bad Homburg, Swiatek Plays for First WTA Grass-Court Final

Swiatek faced Alexandrova in the quarterfinals of the Bad Homburg tournament. The two players had met five times on the tour, with a slight edge for the Polish player (3-2).
After taking the first set, the world No. 8 had to battle to secure the second. Both players held strong on their serves, leading to a tight deciding set, which Swiatek won 7-5. She ultimately eliminated the world No. 18 with a 6-4, 7-6 victory in 1 hour and 57 minutes. This season, out of 10 tournaments played, she has reached the quarterfinals nine times and the semifinals six times.
Now aiming for her first WTA grass-court final, she will face Paolini in the next round. In Bad Homburg, her best performance prior to this was a walkover against Bronzetti in the 2023 semifinals.
