ATP Awards: Berrettini wins Comeback of the Year Award

Matteo Berrettini won the Comeback of the Year award on Thursday, in recognition of the level of play he displayed after a long absence from the ATP circuit due to a number of injuries.

The year 2024 had begun in the worst possible way for the Italian, who missed the Australian Open with a foot injury.

Dropped back to 154th in the world rankings, Berrettini gradually regained his form, first winning the Marrakech tournament in April, before claiming successive titles in Gstaad and Kitzbühel in July.

And to cap a year in which he finished just outside the Top 30 (34th in the world), Berrettini helped Italy to victory in the Davis Cup in November.
