Carlos Alcaraz shone in 2025. The Spaniard reclaimed the world number 1 spot from Jannik Sinner and demonstrated exceptional consistency. The 22-year-old player won eight titles, including Roland-Garros and the US Open, even reaching nine consecutive finals on the main tour between April and September.

A remarkable feat that is no accident, and which demonstrates the excellent work of Alcaraz with his team. Thus, it is no surprise that Juan Carlos Ferrero and Samuel Lopez were voted Coaches of the Year at the ATP Awards.

Ferrero and Lopez voted Coaches of the Year at the ATP Awards

"I am very happy with this award. I had no doubt that Samuel (Lopez) would fit perfectly with our working philosophy, because we have been collaborating for many years and he knows exactly what I expect for Carlos (Alcaraz).

He did an excellent job from the start. Honestly, since I started this project, winning the Coach of the Year title was never a goal. But the fact that my work is recognized by other coaches who understand like us how complicated it is...

It means a lot to me to have won this title twice. This year, it is all the more rewarding as I share this award with Samuel," Ferrero assured on the ATP website.

"Our mission is to keep his ambition alive"

"Everything was easy because the results followed. The working atmosphere is very relaxed because we have known each other forever and we understood what Carlos needed. Our mission is to keep his ambition alive.

We cannot rest on our laurels with what he has achieved. From now on, this motivation must continue to grow, always aiming higher, for goals that few people can reach," added Samuel Lopez.

Hello I'm new

7j

I am surprised about relatively low attendance at Roland Garros which was the most popular slam 20+ years ago. I myself love it as well as really loving aus and us opens. I don't care about Wimbledon, sometimes maybe I can watch women's tennis. I hate Wimbledon's white dress code, I feel like I am watching junior tennis...I watched very few matches like Graf davenport final in 1999 the last time.....
