ATP Paris: Auger-Aliassime Saves His Skin After 3-Hour Battle and Silences the Crowd!

On a scorching Court 1, Auger-Aliassime held his nerve to triumph against Alexandre Müller, who was just two points away from victory.

For over three hours, Alexandre Müller and Félix Auger-Aliassime engaged in an intensely gripping battle. And when the dust settled, it was the Canadian who raised his arms to the sky: 5-7, 7-6(5), 7-6(4).

But the most striking scene occurred just after the match point, where Félix Auger-Aliassime celebrated his victory in front of a crowd that was firmly behind his opponent.

The Canadian, the ninth seed, continues his meteoric rise towards the ATP Finals in Turin, now less than 400 points behind Lorenzo Musetti, who is eighth in the Race.

Facing a solid opponent, Alexandre Müller (World No. 44) came close to a major upset. Spurred on by the home crowd, the Frenchman took a one-set lead and kept his rival in doubt for a long time. He notably led 3-0 in the final set tie-break.

With this victory, Félix Auger-Aliassime extends his impressive streak against French players: 9 consecutive wins against French players on French soil. Since 2020, no French player has managed to beat him on home turf.

Next match: He will face Germany's Altmaier for a spot in the quarter-finals.
