Since Monte-Carlo included (last April), Carlos Alcaraz has reached the final of every tournament he has participated in. The recent US Open winner, the Spaniard has also taken the world number one spot from his rival Sinner.

Indeed, with 11,540 points (compared to 10,780 for the Italian), the native of El Palmar has achieved his personal record.

But that's not all, as with 4,000 points at stake by the end of the year (500 in Tokyo, 1,000 in Shanghai, 1,000 in Paris, and 1,500 at the ATP Finals), he could achieve one of the highest totals since the implementation of the current calendar and scoring system (2009).

With only 900 points to defend, the player could reach 14,640 points, which would be the third highest score ever seen on the men's tour, placing him behind the legends Djokovic (16,950 points) and Nadal (15,390 points).

Carlos Alcaraz
1e, 12050 points
Jannik Sinner
2e, 11500 points
Novak Djokovic
4e, 4830 points
Rafael Nadal

As federations struggle to reinvent themselves, private academies are capturing talent… but also families able to invest tens of thousands of euros a year. A system that is increasingly effective, but also increasingly unequal.

Born almost by accident in an Acapulco garden, padel has in fifty years become a global phenomenon that both fascinates and worries tennis. Its meteoric rise is already reshaping the landscape of racket sports.
The paradox dividing tennis: exhausted players and a saturated calendar, yet ever more exhibitions
The paradox dividing tennis: exhausted players and a saturated calendar, yet ever more exhibitions
Jules Hypolite 06/12/2025 à 17h03
Exhausted but omnipresent stars, ever-longer tournaments and exhibitions that have become a business in their own right: tennis is revealing its deepest contradictions, torn between spectacle and physical survival.
The impact of the war on tennis in Ukraine: financial aid, foundations, governing bodies and all‑round headaches
The impact of the war on tennis in Ukraine: financial aid, foundations, governing bodies and all‑round headaches

Since February 2022 and the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, Ukrainian sport has been heavily affected by human, structural and economic losses. Tennis has, of course, not been spared. While Ukrainian athletes have had to rethink their entire organization, an entire country, behind the scenes, has had to adapt and change its training conditions. This extends all the way to the highest level, where professional players have spoken out, trying as best they can to help their nation.

As we move to the end of this month and also closing out the year I am wishing all of those following me a Merry Christmas and a Happy/Healthy New Year.

Let's make that wish for all 2000 plus players hoping for 5 wins each day. Hoping ŵhen we open the results page to see all green, and no red. And especially NO CANCELED matches.

From me and my rotti JAZ, I bid you all good night, and see you in...

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.

The finals are here, and we scramble for the best finish. I've been chasing "King" all year and I was able to shrink the spread a little. Skelp is also closing the gap.

Seasons best to all the regulars in our league.

Will you all be back in the new year.?

Steffi Graf completed a Golden Slam (not just a career Grand Slam) when she was 19. She is the only person to accomplish that, winning the four majors plus Olympic gold the same calendar year.
