ATP Ranking Update: Alcaraz Moves to 2nd, Musetti Achieves Career-High Ranking, A Pleasant French Surprise in Challenger

The Monte-Carlo tournament concluded this Sunday with Carlos Alcaraz defeating Lorenzo Musetti.

Thanks to this victory, Alcaraz surpasses Alexander Zverev and reclaims his 2nd place. He is now 2210 points behind Jannik Sinner, who remains first despite his suspension.

As for Musetti, he climbs 5 spots to reach his best ranking: 11th place in the world.

Unfortunately for him, he will not be able to continue this week with the Barcelona tournament, as he got injured in the Monte-Carlo final.

On the French side, Arthur Fils moves up one place, reaching 14th place, thanks to his quarter-final appearance in the principality. In the Challenger circuit, Luka Pavlovic reached the final of the Mexico City Challenger.

The Frenchman excelled throughout the week, notably defeating Adrian Mannarino, before losing in the final to Felipe Meligeni Alves.

Thanks to this impressive run, he ranks 235th this Monday, his highest ranking, bringing him closer to the cut for the Roland-Garros qualifications.

Among the losers, Casper Ruud, last year's finalist at Monte-Carlo, was defeated in the round of 16 and drops 3 places, now ranking 10th.

Stefanos Tsitsipas is the big loser of this week, having won last year, he was defeated in the quarter-finals by Musetti and drops out of the Top 10 this Monday, now ranking 16th in the world.
