ATP withdraws warning to Medvedev for lack of combativeness
In Beijing, the chair umpire, Adel Nour, issued a warning for lack of combativeness to Daniil Medvedev, which sparked controversy. While the Russian was suffering from cramps, the chair umpire's interpretation was debated.
After re-examining the incident, the ATP decided to withdraw this warning from Medvedev: "After reviewing the incident that occurred during Daniil Medvedev's semifinal in Beijing, ATP officiating determined that the 'best efforts' code violation was an error.
This information was communicated to Medvedev and his team after the match, and no fine will be imposed."
For this warning, the Russian faced a fine of up to $40,000.
