Auger-Aliassime defeats Korda in Adelaide
The year 2025 is off to the best possible start for Félix Auger-Aliassime.
The Canadian, seeded No. 3 at the ATP 250 tournament in Adelaide, got the better of Sebastian Korda in the final (6-3, 3-6, 6-1). This is the 6th title in Auger-Aliassime's career, the first since Basel in 2023.
On his way to the title, he had eliminated a French player in Arthur Cazaux, before defeating two Americans, Marcos Giron and Tommy Paul, seeded number 1, in the semi-finals.
Auger-Aliassime thus made it three wins out of three against the US players, and it was Korda who fell to the future world No. 23 in the ATP rankings.
Despite a solid run so far, the 24-year-old American lost for the seventh time in nine finals since the start of his career.
The 22nd-ranked player lost to his opponent for the third time in four encounters, and will not be taking revenge on FAA, who beat him in the final in Antwerp in 2022.
Before facing Struff in his Australian Open opener, Auger-Aliassime is full of confidence. For his part, Korda will face Klein, a player who came through the qualifying rounds.
