Auger-Aliassime explains his withdrawal from Rome: "Unfortunately, I locked up my back"

Ranked 27th in the world, Félix Auger-Aliassime is on a streak of five consecutive losses. Defeated in his opening match at the Estoril Challenger last week by Andrea Pellegrino, the Canadian, who has won two titles this season, wanted to intensify his preparation for Roland-Garros by participating in the Rome Masters 1000.
Unfortunately for him, Auger-Aliassime was forced to withdraw at the last moment due to a back injury. Scheduled to face Thiago Seyboth Wild, the 24-year-old player was replaced in the draw by Hugo Dellien. On X (formerly Twitter), the Montreal native explained his withdrawal.
"Hello everyone, after a good week of training here in Rome, I unfortunately locked up my back this morning (Saturday) during warm-up. I couldn’t play my match because of this, and I’m currently assessing the nature of my injury.
I hope it won’t be anything too serious and that it won’t keep me off the court for too long. Thank you, Rome, and see you next year," Auger-Aliassime wrote on social media.
