Auger-Aliassime to Sinner: "We used to play FIFA at 16-17 years old, and we've come a long way since then!"
Despite a very impressive run, Félix Auger-Aliassime was defeated in the final of the Paris Masters 1000 by Jannik Sinner (6-4, 7-6).
Interviewed on court during the awards ceremony, the Canadian praised his opponent's performance while sharing a fun anecdote about their shared evolution:
"Congratulations to you and your team. You have pushed the other players and me to improve and become better. Everything you've done since we've known each other... We used to play FIFA at 16-17 years old, and we've come a long way since then! I want to congratulate Sinner: you force everyone to improve. Thank you to my team, to my family for this great year. Thank you also to the French crowd, always present."
As a reminder, Auger-Aliassime could have qualified for the Turin Masters with a victory. Now, he will have to go to Metz to try and secure the necessary points.
