Auger-Aliassime Triumphs in Brussels and Revives ATP Finals Race

Félix Auger-Aliassime emerged victorious in Brussels after a thrilling final against Jiri Lehecka (7-6, 6-7, 6-2). The Canadian clinched his eighth career title, joining Milos Raonic among Canadian tennis legends, while also moving closer to the ATP Finals.

Félix Auger-Aliassime raises his arms for the third time in 2025. After a thunderous start to the season with two titles in two months (Adelaide and then Montpellier), the Canadian had experienced a slump on clay and grass courts.

He gradually regained form this summer, notably reaching the semifinals at the US Open. Motivated by the prospect of qualifying for the ATP Finals in Turin,

Auger-Aliassime arrived in Brussels with one goal: to win the title and close in on Lorenzo Musetti in the Race.

This is now accomplished for the 25-year-old player, who won the final against third seed Jiri Lehecka, though not without difficulty. He prevailed 7-6, 6-7, 6-2 in 2 hours and 34 minutes after missing two match points in the second-set tiebreak.

This marks the eighth title of his career, making him, alongside Milos Raonic, the most decorated Canadian player in the Open Era. In terms of rankings, Auger-Aliassime collects 250 points in the Race and now sits 340 points behind the 8th place held by Musetti.

He will need to confirm this strong momentum in Basel, where his compatriot Gabriel Diallo awaits him in the first round.
