Paula Badosa's resurrection continues.
Having come close to retirement in March due to serious physical problems with her back, the 26-year-old is now enjoying a string of fine performances.
Since the start of the American season, Badosa has claimed a title (Washington), a semi-final (Cincinnati) and a quarter-final (US Open).
Arriving in Beijing in very positive form, the Spaniard didn't miss a beat.
After two easy opening wins, she has just given world number 3 and US Open finalist Jessica Pegula a real tennis lesson (6-4, 6-0).
More impressive than ever, she continues her superb comeback and will now try to secure her place in the final four of the tournament against a certain Shuai Zhang.
But I'm suspicious as to how she started winning after going through injury problems and contemplating retirement without getting any surgery done
