Tsitsipas to Badosa: "I couldn't be prouder of you!
Paula Badosa has had a stunning 2024. Hampered by serious back problems, the Spaniard had begun her season with fears of premature retirement.
However, driven by her extraordinary courage and determination, she gradually rediscovered her tennis. She finished the season on a very high level (title in Washington, semi-final in Cincinnati, quarter-final at the US Open, semi-finals in Beijing and Ningbo...).
Ranked 100th in the world in January, she finished the year ranked 12th in the world and was logically awarded the Comeback of the Year prize at the WTA Awards.
Clearly delighted for his girlfriend, Stefanos Tsitsipas addressed Badosa on social networks: "My dear Paula, you have worked so hard and shown such resilience to become a top player again this year, and I couldn't be prouder of you for winning the WTA Comeback of the Year award.
As someone famous once said, 'Spaniards never die'."
