Medvedev, Hurkacz, Fritz and Krejcikova withdraw from the World Tennis League

The World Tennis League, taking place in Abu Dhabi from December 19 to 22, has announced the withdrawal of Hubert Hurkacz, Taylor Fritz, Barbora Krejcikova and Daniil Medvedev.

They have been replaced by Denis Shapovalov, Alexander Shevchenko, Jordan Thompson and Simona Halep.

Four teams will compete in this exhibition. The first match is between the Hawks, made up of Aryna Sabalenka, Mirra Andreeva, Thompson and Sumit Nagal, and the Falcons, featuring Elena Rybakina, Caroline Garcia, Shapovalov and Andrey Rublev.

The second match will see the Eagles, made up of Iga Swiatek, Halep, Shevchenko and Casper Ruud take on the Kits of Jasmine Paolini, Paula Badosa, Nick Kyrgios and Stefanos Tsitsipas.

The four teams compete over three days, with the top two going through to the final on December 22.
