Badosa: "I left the court crying".
Paula Badosa has rediscovered her taste for success and, above all, final victory on the circuit.
Lining up in Washington last week, she won her first title since 2022.
After a match marred by rain interruptions, the Spaniard finally came out on top, defeating Bouzkova in three sets.
However, as she explained in the press conference, the multiple interruptions almost took her out of her match.
Not hiding her natural emotionality, she declared: "I left the court (after the second set) crying a lot. I really couldn't stop crying.
My team didn't know what to do because I was crying all the time... I think it helped me get my emotions out a bit because I was really nervous. After crying, I don't know how long... I calmed down.
I changed. I said to myself: 'Paula, it's a match, give it your all'... It worked out pretty well. I seized my opportunities. I'm very proud of the way I handled it."
