Badosa reassures ahead of her long-awaited return to the BJK Cup: "I feel very good"
On her way to the Billie Jean King Cup, Paula Badosa approaches her return with a mix of hope and determination. After months of battling back pain, she will look to regain confidence on the court during the quarterfinal match against Ukraine.
Plagued by recurring back injuries in recent months, Paula Badosa has not played many tournaments in 2025 and has not competed since her first-round loss at Wimbledon to Katie Boulter.
However, the Spaniard, ranked 20th in the world, will return to represent her country in the Final 8 of the Billie Jean King Cup, where the Iberian nation will face Ukraine's Elina Svitolina and Marta Kostyuk for a spot in the semifinals. Ahead of this clash, the 27-year-old player gave an update on her health.
"I feel very good. Honestly, the last few months have been really tough, marked by repeated injuries. Mentally, it's very difficult. Whether we like it or not, we lose confidence in our bodies, even though personally, it's not the first time.
I've had this experience before. This time, I hope to make a lasting comeback. The key in this final phase will be to build a very good atmosphere within the team, and I believe that's already the case.
The level of the girls, especially Jessica (Bouzas Maneiro) and Cristina (Bucsa), has been very high for several months, and I trust my teammates. I hope we can deliver a strong performance," Badosa told Tennis Up To Date.
