"Being an athlete is really boring," the strong words of Sabalenka

The life of a top-level athlete is filled with highs and lows. While moments of glory are often marked by intense adrenaline rushes, major disappointments can also deeply impact an athlete's daily life. Interviewed and shared by Tennis World Italia, current world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka opened up about the challenges faced by global sports figures:
"I think it’s important to have fun and enjoy life. But being an athlete is really boring, honestly. Your entire life depends on your achievements. If you win, you’re the happiest person in the world. You enjoy life, you feel great.
But when you lose, it’s hard to enjoy anything. I’m here on the beach, and I find it beautiful, but I lost. I’m such a loser. I hate myself. It’s like you’re constantly living your life through ups and downs."
Sabalenka is coming off two painful defeats on the tour. The first at Roland-Garros in the final against Gauff (6-7, 6-2, 6-4), where she led by a set before completely collapsing, committing no fewer than 70 unforced errors. And the second in the Wimbledon semifinals against Anisimova (6-4, 4-6, 6-4).
