Being one of the top four seeds at Wimbledon is a huge sign of progress for me," Draper proud of his changing status on the tour
Jack Draper has reached the semifinals of Queen’s for the first time in his career, where he will face Jiri Lehecka.
In addition to securing his spot in the final four, the British player, now ranked world No. 6 this week, will be the No. 4 seed at Wimbledon—a first in his career. In a press conference, Draper reflected on this new status he’ll carry:
"It’s a big step forward for me. I remember last year I arrived at Wimbledon ranked between 30th and 40th. Being one of the top four seeds at Wimbledon is a huge sign of progress for me. I live and breathe this sport. I’m obsessed with improving, becoming the player I want to be, and achieving my goals.
This is another step in the right direction. At Wimbledon, no matter your status, every match is tough. There are a lot of high-level players in the draw, just like this week at Queen’s. Being in this position gives me confidence.
