Belgrade Tournament Relocated to Greece Following Conflicts Between Djokovic and Serbian Government

Among the tennis news this Monday, the ATP announced that the Belgrade tournament, which belonged to the ATP 250 category, will be canceled for the 2025 season.
The event was originally scheduled to take place from November 2 to 8, but it will now be relocated to Athens. While the official reason has not been disclosed, Serbian media reports suggest that Novak Djokovic and his family are behind this change.
Indeed, the Belgrade tournament had been managed until now by Djordje Djokovic, one of the brothers of the former world No. 1. However, the 38-year-old player recently expressed his support for students protesting against government corruption.
This stance will force him to move to Greece in early September, as announced a month ago. The 24-time Grand Slam champion could compete in the inaugural edition of the Athens tournament, scheduled just before the start of the ATP Finals.
