Loïs Boisson is proudly representing France at this edition of Roland-Garros 2025. The player from Dijon has qualified for the quarterfinals after a prestigious victory against world No. 3 Jessica Pegula.

For Fabrice Santoro, while this run is excellent, it doesn’t address all the issues in French women’s tennis. He states: "Her run is unexpected, it’s really great.

But it doesn’t solve the problem in French women’s tennis. Even though we have Loïs reaching the quarterfinals against all odds, we’re still lacking players in the Top 100.

When you look at the younger generation, there isn’t an extremely strong core. On the men’s side, after the 4 Musketeers we had, there were two or three difficult years, but now we’re entering another strong decade with very good players like Giovanni (Mpetshi Perricard), Arthur (Fils), and Ugo (Humbert).

These are players who should perform at the highest level and are clearly on the rise.

Despite top-10 ATP rankings and consistent excellence, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Gaël Monfils, Richard Gasquet, and Gilles Simon never claimed a Grand Slam title, enduring mockery from French media amid Big 3 dominance. A deep dive into a talented generation defined by sky-high expectations and brutal competition.

As much as I love watching Alcaraz at his best, I'd love to see Alex taking this, he's such a tryer, and getting married and his humour and humility...

Favoritism?

Last year: Sinner seed 1, the organizers schedule Alcaraz on day 1, Sinner on day 2.

This year: Alcaraz seed 1, the organizers schedule Alcaraz on day 1, Sinner on day 3.

That means: 7 matches in 15 days for Alcaraz, 7 in 13 days for Sinner; and no rest day for Sinner between quarter and semis, 1 full day rest for Alcaraz.

Also, on the first very hot day, the organizers schedule Sinner...
