Boisson Resumes Training on Hard Courts Ahead of Cleveland Tournament and US Open
Loïs Boisson is set to make her return to the WTA tour in the coming days. The French player, who emerged as a breakout star at Roland-Garros after reaching the semifinals in her first Grand Slam appearance, had delayed her competitive comeback following her first WTA title on clay in Hamburg at the end of July.
Withdrawing from Montreal and Cincinnati to recover from a left adductor injury, the world No. 47 has entered the WTA 250 tournament in Cleveland. This will be the 22-year-old’s only hard-court preparation event before the US Open, which begins the following week.
Unlike at Wimbledon, where she had to go through qualifying (before losing to Carson Branstine), Boisson is guaranteed a spot in the main draw in New York this time.
Ahead of her participation in Cleveland, the Dijon native has resumed training after several weeks of rehabilitation, as she confirmed on her social media in recent hours.
