Boris Becker doesn't mince words about Zverev: "He's no longer the third force in tennis"

Boris Becker doesn't mince words about Zverev: He's no longer the third force in tennis

In a notable statement, Boris Becker said he is "worried" about Alexander Zverev. According to him, the world No. 3 has been stagnating for several months, unable to compete with Alcaraz, Sinner... and even a 38-year-old Djokovic.

As world No. 3, Alexander Zverev hasn't had a year worthy of his ranking. The German has never been able to compete with the Alcaraz-Sinner duo and has even seen Novak Djokovic, despite being 38 years old, demonstrate better consistency than him in Grand Slams.

This has alerted former champion Boris Becker, who admits being disappointed with the 27-year-old player's second half of the season.

"I thought that during the summer, after his break following Wimbledon, his performances would improve. I thought he was knocking on the door of Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, that he was the third force in men's tennis.

But right now, it's Novak Djokovic, 38 years old. Sascha is really searching for his best form.

Nothing is happening in his box either. There's his father and his brother. They're the same faces for years and years. If things were going well, I'd be the first to congratulate him and say: 'We have a superstar now!'. But I'm a bit worried about what comes next."
