Cahill on the Sinner-Zverev final: "A great challenge for both players".
Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev will battle it out to win the Australian Open this Sunday. The two top seeds in Melbourne have held their nerve all the way to the final.
It's an interesting and indecisive encounter between two players who know each other well and have already met six times (4-2 Zverev in the head-to-heads so far).
With just a few hours to go, Sinner's Australian coach Darren Cahill spoke about the upcoming duel between his protégé and the German.
"Sasha Zverev is a physical beast. He's spent all these years working on his body. He's an excellent athlete, and has a good ratio of best-of-five-set wins.
Jannik is improving. He's improving physically. He's developed late compared to the body he had a few years ago. Jannik will get even better with time.
He's in the final of a Grand Slam again. He's proved he's capable of winning long matches in five sets.
We're not worried that he'll be able to go the distance if necessary. The best player will win.
Both players will be physically ready, they're great athletes. It's number 1 against number 2, so it's the perfect final if the rankings are anything to go by. It's going to be a great challenge for both players," he assured The Tennis Gazette.
