Cahill reveals Graf's impact on Agassi's career: Once he met Steffi, he found balance in his life

Darren Cahill was Andre Agassi's coach from 2002 until the end of his career in 2006, helping the Las Vegas native win his final Grand Slam title at the 2003 Australian Open and briefly regain the world No. 1 ranking.

Invited on Caroline Garcia's latest podcast, the current co-coach of Jannik Sinner spoke about Agassi's meeting with Graf, which was a turning point in the American's career:

"His relationship with tennis is complicated, if you've read his book. He never found the right balance. For him, the right balance was that the joy of winning would equal the pain of losing. And the pain of losing was always harder for him to handle.

So he didn't appreciate his victories as much as he suffered in his defeats. I think once he met Steffi Graf, things changed a bit because he found balance in his life.

He found an incredible person. Stef is one of the calmest and most humble champions we've ever seen. She's someone who is very easy to talk to. He met an incredible woman, and I think she gave him a purpose in life.

He started raising money for underprivileged children, so they could have access to education. He started playing for them and gave his life a purpose."
