Carlos Alcaraz targeted by unexpected criticism: "He has his whole life to earn money"
Carlos Alcaraz is preparing for the conquest of his first Australian Open, which is fast approaching. The Spaniard is already active in terms of exhibitions: he notably faced Frances Tiafoe and Joao Fonseca recently.
Steve Flink, an American journalist, gave his point of view on this in an interview for the YouTube channel Beilinson Tennis.
I don't think his team is very enthusiastic
"Carlos has never yet shown us his best level in Australia... I don't think Ferrero and his team are very enthusiastic about Carlos spending his off-season coming to play exhibition matches here.
He has every right to do it, but he has his whole life to earn money. He has so much time to grow his bank account that I think it would have been wiser to refrain.
We will never know if this was a factor in his defeat against Novak. Novak played an excellent match against him last year, but Carlos was also a bit below his usual level."
