Carlos Ramos, chair umpire during the incident between Garin and Bergs: An unfortunate accident.

Carlos Ramos witnessed the incident between Cristian Garin and Zizou Bergs at the change of ends.

After refusing the Chilean team's requests for disqualification, the chair umpire had to give Garin a penalty game, meaning the end of the match, as the 132nd-ranked player in the world did not want to continue the game.

An incident on which Ramos obviously commented in the press conference:

"I consider it an unfortunate accident with no intention on the player's part. Nothing had happened during the match that would lead me to believe it was intentional."
