Cazaux Wins All-French Duel and Secures His First ATP Final

Cazaux faced his compatriot Rinderknech in the semifinals of the ATP 250 in Kitzbühel.
Initially interrupted by rain at 4-3 in the first set, the two players were only able to resume play two hours later. This delay didn’t stop Cazaux from taking control of the match before sealing the deal convincingly in the following set. In 1 hour and 48 minutes, he won the all-French duel against the tournament’s No. 6 seed with a score of 7-5, 6-3.
Performing strongly for several weeks now, the young Frenchman confirms his upward trajectory and reaches his first final on the main tour. Next, he awaits the winner of the other semifinal between Bublik and Van de Zandschulp. If the Kazakh prevails, the two would meet again just one week after their last encounter in Gstaad (where Bublik won).
For now, Cazaux is virtually ranked 75th in the ATP and could achieve his career-high ranking if he maintains his momentum this season. Long hampered by injuries, it seems this difficult period is finally behind him.
