Change in Race points calculation from 2026: ATP will stop the ranking after Paris
The ATP is set to change its rules for the Race ranking, which will impact the qualification race for the ATP Finals starting next season.
This Sunday, Jannik Sinner and Félix Auger-Aliassime will face each other in the final of the Paris Masters 1000. The Italian or the Canadian will thus win the last tournament of this category for the season.
Furthermore, starting in 2026, the Race points system will be different from previous years. Indeed, the ATP will change its way of counting points at the end of the season. The points accumulated in the race to qualify for the November ATP Finals will stop after the final of the Paris tournament.
All tournaments that take place after this date will count towards the Race ranking of the following season. This season, Lorenzo Musetti, still in the running for qualification, decided to request a wild card for the Athens tournament to give himself a chance to qualify for the Turin Masters, but this is therefore the last year that such an arrangement will be possible.
