Cobolli praises Sinner and Alcaraz: "To reach their level is very difficult for everyone".
Flavio Cobolli had a fine year in 2024.
The 22-year-old Italian reached his highest ranking (30th) in September and played in his first ATP final in Washington, where he was dominated by Sebastian Korda in a three-set duel.
In an interview with Corriere Dello Sport, the man who belongs to the new generation of Italian talent spoke of Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.
He hopes there will be more competition to heckle the two players who have shared four Grand Slam titles this season.
"Both are the present and will be the future of the sport. To reach their level is very difficult for everyone, but I hope that the gap with the players behind them will be smaller, so as to put them in more difficulty.
I'd say that's what we haven't been able to do too much of this year.
Having said that, I always cheer for Jannik and have a lot of respect for Carlos, so I'm very happy when they get good results", Cobolli assured us.
