Collins Praises Keys: "Her Australian Open Run Inspired Me This Year"

At 30 years old, Madison Keys dazzled at the start of the season with her talent, winning two titles in the first month of competition.
After winning the WTA 500 in Adelaide, the American then triumphed at the Australian Open following an exceptional run (Collins, Rybakina, Svitolina, Swiatek, and Sabalenka), which subsequently allowed her to enter the top 5 for the first time in her career in February.
This run, which helped qualify Keys for the WTA Finals in Riyadh, has certainly inspired some of her compatriots, like Danielle Collins. The former world No. 7, who ended her season after the US Open, spoke about Keys' personality.
"Madison Keys' run to the title at the Australian Open is truly something that inspired me this year. I loved watching her play in Melbourne. I also love how she has evolved as a person.
She has been so open about the various things she has gone through, the different challenges she has faced, how she managed to overcome all of that, and the sincerity with which she spoke about it.
I love it when people participate in those press conferences or media events and bring content to the conversation that inspires others, because we've all seen that, right?
It's understandable. Some people aren't as comfortable as others when speaking in front of the media. I get that, which is why it's an inspiration," Collins told Tennis World USA.
