A Major First: Anisimova Officially Qualifies for the WTA Finals

After a dazzling season, highlighted by two Grand Slam finals, the young American has earned her first invitation to the elite of women's tennis in Riyadh.
For the first time in her career, Amanda Anisimova will compete in the WTA Finals (November 1-8). The American, a two-time Grand Slam finalist this year (Wimbledon and US Open), secured her spot for the event after her victory against Jasmine Paolini in the Beijing quarterfinals.
At 22 years old, she will thus experience the format of this tournament that brings together the eight best players of the season.
Her compatriot Madison Keys also confirmed her qualification this Thursday and will be present for the second time after 2016. The two players thus join Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek, and Coco Gauff.
Behind them, Jessica Pegula and Mirra Andreeva appear well on their way to securing their spots in Riyadh, while Elena Rybakina, Jasmine Paolini, and Ekaterina Alexandrova are in a tight battle for the 8th and final place.
