Corentin Moutet on Fire in Almaty: The Frenchman Secures a Final Against Medvedev!
More impressive than ever, Corentin Moutet has once again reached an ATP Tour final. After a strong run in Almaty, the Frenchman will attempt to unsettle Daniil Medvedev to claim the first title of his career.
Competing in the semifinals in Almaty (Kazakhstan), the world number 41 faced Alex Michelsen, an opponent he had already encountered three times this year.
The two players had previously met on clay in Monte-Carlo, on grass in Mallorca, and on outdoor hard court in Cincinnati, with the Frenchman holding a two-to-one advantage.
Having already won his three previous matches in straight sets, Moutet confirmed his excellent form by winning 7-5, 6-4 in just over two hours of play. He will compete tomorrow in his second final of the season after Mallorca, where he was defeated by Tallon Griekspoor.
The native of Neuilly-sur-Seine will need to overcome Daniil Medvedev to win his very first ATP Tour title. Meanwhile, the Russian is aiming for his first trophy since Rome in 2023.
A final with enticing stakes, set to take place at 12:00 PM French time.
