Daphnée Mpetshi Perricard defeated by Saville in the second round of Roland-Garros qualifiers

In a match interrupted the day before at the very beginning, counting for the second round of the Roland-Garros qualifiers, the challenge was ultimately too high for Daphnée Mpetshi Perricard, younger sister of Giovanni, against Daria Saville.
As the match resumed with both players having won two games each in the first set, the Australian, seeded number 26 in the qualifying draw and a former top 20 in the WTA, quickly took control, winning the last four games in the first set to gain the lead.
The situation did not improve in the second set, as the current world number 134, aged 31, was able to use her experience against the 16-year-old French player. In the end, the expected outcome prevailed, and the Australian won (6-2, 6-1) against the player who had defeated Gabriela Knutson in the previous round (6-4, 6-3).
To try and reach the main draw of Roland-Garros for the second consecutive time, she will face Taylor Townsend in a battle between former top 100 players. The American is currently ranked 106th in the WTA rankings.
