De Minaur: "Breaking into the top 10 was a very important moment for me".
Alex De Minaur had an excellent 2024 season.
The Australian managed to break into the world No. 6 ranking for the first time in his career after reaching the quarter-finals at Wimbledon.
A performance that demonstrates the consistency of the 25-year-old, who was injured before returning in force to contest the quarters at the US Open.
In total, he has won two titles since January, in Acapulco against Casper Ruud and in s'-Hertogenbosch against Sebastian Korda.
He also played in the Rotterdam final in February, but fell to an almost invincible Jannik Sinner.
Before the start of 2025, Alex De Minaur gave an interview to the official United Cup website, in which he reflected on his season and his objectives for the coming months.
"I think I was able to use the confidence I gained in the first week at the United Cup to have my best year ever.
It was obviously a very important week for me in terms of confidence.
I was able to use it as a springboard. Moving up to another level and breaking into the top 10 was a very important moment for me.
I've had my best year yet, but at the same time, I'm not satisfied. I want more. I want to keep pushing myself.
I want to finish my career knowing that I've given my all and done everything I can to be the best tennis player I can be.
That's still my goal. I keep pushing myself, trying to do more. I try to work hard.
I always have to improve and continue to refine certain aspects of my game if I hope to achieve good results," asserted De Minaur.
