De Minaur on UTS: "This big cheque motivates everyone".
Alex de Minaur will take part in the Ultimate Tennis Showdown in London, from December 6 to 8.
He spoke to Tennis365 about this exhibition tournament: "It's exciting and different, it gives you a different vision of how to play the points.
I've already taken part in a few UTS tournaments and I enjoyed it. Having only one serve is an interesting change of mind and I like trying to adapt to it.
I find the noise and chaos of UTS a little easier to deal with when I know it's coming, and that's the case at UTS.
When everything's quiet, you hear all the noise, but it's never quiet at UTS, and this has shown me that it's possible to play like that.
You get used to the fact that the crowd gets fired up, screams and the music starts. It means you have to find a different way of concentrating on scoring."
The Australian was also honest about the money on offer at this kind of exhibition: "UTS tournaments pay well, which makes them very competitive.
We're all trying to earn that big cheque at the end of the week, and that motivates everyone. It allows the players to give their best."
