De Minaur warns competition: "I'm reaching a new peak in my career"
Alex De Minaur is quite a customer on the circuit this season. After winning the title in Acapulco at the start of the year, he already has 8 victories over members of the world's top 8 (Fritz, Djokovic, Zverev, Rublev, Dimitrov, Tsitsipas, Ruud, Medvedev). After a very respectable clay-court season given his status on the surface, he has launched his grass-court season to perfection. Registered in Bois-le-Duc, he held his own very well, winning all his matches fairly comfortably.
Victorious on Sunday, overcoming Sebastian Korda, ranked 27th in the world, in the final (6-2, 6-4 in 1h35), the 25-year-old made no secret of his delight. As he reaches his career-high ranking of world No. 7 on Monday, the Australian is hungry for more. Interviewed in the press conference, he was confident and ready for battle: "I'm reaching a new peak in my career. This victory is always a nice little bonus. The first week on grass couldn't have gone any better.
I'm looking forward to what's to come with Queens and the whole grass-court season. Yes, I'm smiling and I'm ready."
