Dimitrov and Rune, a reunion after the rain in Monte-Carlo?
Although Wednesday's weather was far less disruptive than might have been feared on the Monegasque Rock, the rain did steal the show from the tennis at the end of the afternoon. Before that, a few drops had already fallen, but fortunately too light to disrupt the smooth running of the program.
This was not the case just before 6.00 pm (local time), and the end of the last matches in progress had to be postponed. Holger Rune was leading 6-3, 2-1 against Sumit Nagal on Court Rainier III (Central) and Grigor Dimitrov was leading (6-4, 2-1) against Miomir Kecmanovic on Court des Princes.
The Dane and the Bulgarian will therefore have to complete their second rounds early Thursday afternoon, before moving on to their potential Round of 16 clash at the end of the day. Should they win their respective duels, they would then go head-to-head for a place in the quarter-finals.
