Dimitrov, Monfils' Opponent, Withdraws from Queen’s
Scheduled to face Monfils in his opening match at Queen’s, Dimitrov has once again withdrawn. This marks the Bulgarian’s fifth withdrawal this season after Brisbane, the Australian Open, Dubai, and Roland Garros.
Another notable statistic: the 34-year-old player has retired in the last four Grand Slams he participated in. This latest withdrawal will allow a lucky loser to enter the main draw.
Ranked 10th in the world at the start of the year, Dimitrov has been gradually losing points in the ATP rankings and currently sits at 19th. In 2025, his best performance came on hard courts in Miami, where he fell in the semifinals to Djokovic (6-2, 6-3). Having entered Queen’s last year, he reached the second round before being eliminated by Korda.
