Dimitrov returns to Top 10 by joining Sinner in Miami final
Grigor Dimitrov confirmed his current excellent form by overcoming Alexander Zverev in the semi-finals of the Miami Masters 1000. Impressive in dominating Carlos Alcaraz in the quarters on Thursday, the Bulgarian confirmed his current top level on Friday. He didn't concede a single break to Zverev, while twice taking his opponent's serve. He won in 2 hours 37 minutes and three sets (6-4, 6-7, 6-4) and will now face Jannik Sinner in Sunday's final.
Mentally very solid, Dimitrov put Zverev under constant pressure throughout the match, while seizing every opportunity he had (2 break points converted out of 2). The Bulgarian, who has been very good over the last 6 months, will be rewarded on Monday with a return to the Top 10 of the ATP rankings. He will be at least world no. 9 and could even move up to no. 7 if he wins the title against Sinner on Sunday.
