Dimitrov withdraws from Medvedev after injury in 1st set
The big battle expected between Grigor Dimitrov and Daniil Medvedev didn't happen. The Bulgarian got off to a very good start, but slipped when he regained his footing after hitting a forehand in the 6th game.
Apparently suffering a left thigh injury, Dimitrov initially tried to continue. But, finding that he was still unable to move normally after calling in the physio, he eventually withdrew.
Medvedev thus qualified for the quarter-finals, where he will face Jannik Sinner.
